The Department of Physical Education is one of the most vibrant departments of this college. The department got affiliation from the mother university in the year 2003. Since then the department has produced a good number of physical education professional who are right now working in various government and non-government institutions. The department offers 3 years general degree course with physical education as a major subject. The other department students also can choose this subject as a minor subject. The subject physical education is an amalgamation of both science and arts based subjects and the main aim of the subject is to develop the overall personality of the students. The curriculum is designed in such a fashion where a student is exposed to theory and practical areas of the subject. The department is equipped with a huge multipurpose hall have all the modern gym equipment, huge amount of sports equipment and a lush green play field. The students after passing out from this department can easily get admission in Teacher’s Training Course (B.P.Ed.), Diploma in Yoga Science, Fitness Trainer Course, Gym Instructor course, Sports Journalism course, Sports Data Analyst course and Sports management course. The Department of Physical Education has decided to introduce some value added and certificate courses like Yoga for Health Life, Yoga for Stress Relief, Yoga and Women Health, Yoga and Life Style, Sports and Nutrition, Aerobics and Zumba from academic session 2024-2025. These add-on courses will further equip the students to do well in their professional life. The department also encourage the students to take part in the various sports competitions. Special training sessions are conducted for the athletes from various sporting arenas so that they excel in tournaments. The department has highly qualified teachers to guide and nurture the students properly. Poor and slow learners are taken special care by the qualified teachers and if needed specials psychological boosting talks are also arranged for them.
